Our Annual Trip to the State Capitol

Just before Christmas, our Pack excitedly embarked on our annual trip to the State Capitol. The festive spirit filled the air as we were greeted by stunning Christmas decorations, including the large Christmas tree in front of the Capitol. Our host for the day, Senator Wintrow, welcomed us warmly and made the experience unforgettable.

During the visit, Senator Wintrow guided us through the Capitol showing us highlights on each floor including Committee rooms, the Senate chambers and even her own office. She also shared valuable insights about how laws are made. We learned about the legislative process and even had the chance to brainstorm ideas for our own laws and press the Senator on hypothetical questions. It was a unique opportunity for the scouts to see the importance of civic engagement and understand how they could make a difference in their community. We left inspired and grateful for the warm hospitality of Senator Winthrow, making this trip a memorable highlight of our scouting year.
